LECTURES AND SEMINARS
Monthly lectures in the Sydney CBD are available discounted free to members. Major “International Dialogue” seminars, held every two years, also examine areas of emerging strategic interest.
United Service, our widely-respected journal, is posted to members each quarter. It publishes papers presented at Institute meetings and seminars, along with other contributed papers dealing with defence and security issues and military history. Relevant news items, opinion pieces, letters to the editor, book reviews and biographical articles round out a colourful, informative and entertaining package.
The Institute’s website provides members with current event information, updates on defence affairs, access to the library catalogue and book reviews, and searchable digital versions of our journal articles, articles are all free for members to download.
A treasure-trove featuring 30,000 volumes, our Library ranks as one of the top military history and defence collections in Australia. Members have access to books (including some extremely rare items), documents, maps and contemporary journals that will please everyone from the casual militaria enthusiast to the serious academic researcher. The collection can be searched conveniently via our online catalogue.
