21 October 2015 Mr Bruce Armstrong, CEO Aspen Medical spoke on: Civil Military Operations - West Africa Ebola Response

Canberra-based healthcare provider Aspen Medical was at the centre of Australia's efforts to combat the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The Australian government contracted the Deakin-based firm to staff a 100-bed British-built Ebola treatment centre in Sierra Leone, at a cost of up to $20 million. Aspen Medical set up a clinic in Liberia's capital Monrovia, about 350 kilometres from Sierra Leone, several months before the Ebola outbreak with staff helping to provide frontline care as the nation's healthcare system struggled to treat non-Ebola related conditions.

16 September 2015, ANU Visiting Professor Clive Williams MG spoke in R1-Theatrette on: North Korea – A First Hand Perspective

Clive spoke on impressions gained from a visit this year to the DPRK. The visit involved flying into Pyongyang, spending several days in Pyongyang - including Army Day, travelling by road to Kaesong and the DMZ in the south, taking the train north from Pyongyang to Sinuiju and travelling east by road, then crossing the border into China at Dandong and travelling along the Yalu River where the Chinese army crossed into Korea in 1950.
